Shawn J. Howd
Shawn J. Howd is a 1993 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb where she specialized in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. She interned and then joined the staff at Parkview Orthopedics in Palos Heights, the official team physicians for the Chicago White Sox. Through Parkview she became head Athletic Trainer for Brother Rice High School on the south side of Chicago. She furthered her knowledge of Sports Medicine in the field of aquatic therapy where she developed and instructed programs for high school, college, and professional athletes as well as trauma victims and stroke patients.
Shawn has joined Rezin Orthopedic Sports Medicine as their coordinator. She, along with Dr. Treacy, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Ortinau, has taken Sports Medicine to a new level in area high schools. Introducing a state-of-the-art comprehensive Sports Medicine program involving physician, athletic trainer, and physical therapist coverage of practices and games along with a credited student athletic training program. She and the team are planning to institute their sports medicine coverage to other area high schools, in addition to Plainfield, Ottawa Marquette, Seneca, and Joliet Catholic Academy.
In her spare time she enjoys the sport of sky diving and playing softball.
