The goal of joint replacement surgery is to relieve pain caused by the damage done to the cartilage and bone. An arthritic or damaged joint is replaced during a total joint arthroplasty with new materials, which are designed to enable the joint to move as it normally would. This typically provides complete pain relief. We explore all treatment options and utilize total joint replacement if previous efforts to relieve pain and disability are unsuccessful. At Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, we implement the latest technology and techniques available including minimally invasive approaches and stronger, more durable components to speed recovery, decrease hospital stay, and increase implant longevity.
We want to ensure our patients are well educated on the treatment they will receive at Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and provide education materials from books, classes, videos and models. We offer an educational program that gives each patient pre-operative and post-operative information, as well as a full description of the joint replacement surgery. Our physician assistants also provide pre-operative classes to explain the risks and benefits of surgery and what to expect after the surgery. Videos and bone models are also utilized to show what will be removed during surgery and materials that will be inserted to complete the procedure. We make it a priority to provide our patients with a full understanding and a satisfactory level of comfort about their surgical experience.
